How about really delicious fresh fish to cook at your campsite?
Oh my oh my---we lived on a slab of fresh Mahi Mahi for about 4 days. Go to Jonny Umana P.'s house where he operates Pescaderia Brisas Del Mar. Call ahead to 8916-1336 if you'd like. He's located close to the Rio Baru as you head back past the restaurant & past the tennis courts. Turn right into a little cluster of houses & go straigt. He's the one with the big deep freezer on his patio.
Taxi service from Dominical?
Arturo Sibaja operates Servicio de Taxi Publico 8313-3932 out of Dominical and Dominicalito. About $8 will get you a ride up to the tent platform from Dominial (maybe less, we didn't bargain). He has a 4wd, so should have no trouble.
How about a hardware store where they speak English?
If you need any sort of hardware, you can go south of Uvita to the Hongala, but if you want really good English-speaking help, head up to Uvita and go to Boston Maderas 2771-7203. If Santiago is still there, he's really helpful.
